Barbera d’Alba DOC

Barbera is one of the principal black grapes of Piemonte. It is first mentioned in 1514 in the Land Registers of Chieri. During the 18th century it saw a period of rapid expansion. Barbera produces wines not only for early drinking but also suitable for long ageing and able to compete with the best in the world.
Grape: Barbera
Vinification: traditional with the grapes lightly crushed, de-stemmed and fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks for 8/10 days.
Ageing: two months in stainless steel vats and one month in the bottle.
Notes: intense ruby red colour with violet hints. Intense mature red fruit nose. Refined and balanced in the mouth, with the typical acidity of the grape.
Serving Suggestion: salumi, pasta with ragu, red meat, fried foods.
