Barbera is one of the principal black grapes of Piemonte. It is first mentioned in 1514 in the Land Registers of Chieri. During the 18th century it saw a period of rapid expansion.
Barbera produces wines not only for early drinking but also suitable for long ageing and able to compete with the best in the world.
Grape: Barbera
Vinification: traditional with the grapes lightly crushed, de-stemmed and fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks for 8/10 days.
Ageing: 12 months in used barriques (second passage) and 1 month in bottle.
Notes: ruby red with Garnet nuances. Spicy, floral nose. Structured with a long harmonious finish.
Serving Suggestion: salumi,pasta, cured meats and mature cheeses.
